The Greatest Miracle Called Salvation
Bible Text:“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a healer; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
Introduction: The Ultimate Necessity
Many people come to church looking for different types of miracles. Some want the miracle of healing, some want the miracle of financial breakthrough, and others want the miracle of a fruit of the womb. These are all good things, and my God is more than able to provide them.
However, the greatest miracle any human being can ever receive is the miracle of salvation. Physical healing will fix a body that will still eventually die, but salvation preserves your soul for eternity. Jesus asked a very piercing question in Mark 8:36: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Without salvation, you are spiritually bankrupt, no matter how much money is in your bank account.
What Happens the Moment You Are Saved?
Salvation is not joining a church, nor is it merely turning over a new leaf. It is a supernatural transaction that takes place the moment a sinner encounters the blood of Jesus. Three specific things happen instantly:
- A New Citizenship: You are instantly translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. Your name is erased from the book of doom and written boldly in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
- A Total Clean Slate: The blood of Jesus wipes away your past completely. God does not look at your old sins and try to patch them up; He forgets them. He treats you as if you have never sinned before.
- A Change of Ownership: Before salvation, you belonged to the devil, and he could toss your life around at will. The moment you surrender to Christ, you are bought with a price. You become the property of the Almighty God, and the devil loses his legal right over your destiny.
The Danger of Delaying Salvation
One of the greatest traps the devil uses against humanity is the trap of “tomorrow”. He will tell you that you are too young to be saved, or that you should enjoy your life a little more before surrendering to Jesus. Do not let the enemy deceive you. Procrastination is a deadly gamble.
Proverbs 27:1 warns, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Life is fragile, and eternity is certain. I remember a young man who attended one of our programs. He felt the conviction to give his life to Christ but decided he would do it at the next service. Sadly, he never made it to the next service; a sudden accident took his life that very week. When the Holy Spirit knocks on the door of your heart, open it immediately. Today is the day of salvation.
The Physical and Spiritual Rewards of Salvation
When you genuinely accept Jesus, you do not just secure a place in heaven; you also unlock immediate earthly blessings:
- Authentic Peace of Mind: The world is full of crisis and anxiety, but salvation brings the peace that passes all human understanding. You can sleep soundly in the middle of a storm because you know the Captain of the ship.
- A New Lease on Life: Sicknesses, generational curses, and demonic oppressions that plagued your family line lose their grip. Because you are a new creature, the old family curses no longer have a legal hold on your life.
- The Right to Answered Prayers: God does not listen to the prayers of a sinner, except the prayer of repentance. But the moment you become His child through salvation, you gain the access card to the throne of grace. When you call, He answers.
Conclusion and Call to Action
No matter how deep you have gone into sin, the grace of Jesus is deep enough to rescue you. It does not matter if you are a murderer, a thief, an adulterer, or someone who has just been living a hypocritical life inside the church. If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you.
Do not leave your eternity to chance. If you want to surrender your life to Jesus today, cry out to Him right now, confess your sins, and ask Him to become your personal Lord and Saviour.
